ATEQ organizes a number of events throughout the year where teachers can come together to learn and share with one another. Each year we present our Springboards conference, organized to give teachers an opportunity to get together and learn from one another. We also offer many other events to promote professional development for ELA teachers. Recently, we have offered a number of virtual and in-person PD opportunities in conjunction with organizations such as the Quebec Writers’ Federation and Canadian Children’s Book Week.

In the 2021/2022 school year we plan to offer an online book club where teachers and education professionals can come together to discuss professional texts that are pertinent to teaching English Language Arts. Stay tuned for more information about this initiative in Fall 2021.

Join the conversation! Springboards is our flagship conference with an over 40-year tradition of grass-roots innovation. It’s about teachers sharing with teachers in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.

We frequently partner with other ELA-related organizations to sponsor in-person and online events featuring authors and educators. Come join us and be inspired!

Fall Fare is a conference held every two years in which we offer a concerted amount of time with a published expert in a field concurrent with that year’s theme and breakout sessions with other experts to explore an idea in depth.

We sponsor workshop(s) on pre-convention day and/or on conference day during the Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers (QPAT) annual convention in October.

Join our Online Book Club! Engage in rich discussion about a current professional book with other ELA educators. Coming soon!
