Hybrid and Online Teaching Resources: Video Production

Picture

FreeSound

A huge database of sound effects and sounds for films, TV, ads, and more. This resource is great when creating podcasts, films, and public service announcements. Find everything from ambient background noise to soundtrack options to noisy sound effects.

Voice Changer Plus
For ipads. Offers lots of ways for students to change their voices for video or podcast production. Students can even make their voice go backwards. A very fun and engaging tool.                                                                                                       - Lise Kuhn, English Teacher, EMSB

WeVideo
Free video editing software for films and videos. One of the best web based video editing platforms. They recently added collaborative synchronous video editing. Great for hybrid learning. Videos are embeddable and shareable with just a link. Access to hundreds of thousands of royalty-free media.                                                                                                      - S. Geukjian, High School Teacher & Media Coach, NFSB

Cue prompter
A free website that acts as a prompter for when students are creating films and news reports. I most recently used this site when creating a green screen video for a hybrid classroom model. Using Cue Prompter means that you don’t have to memorize your entire script and can keep your eyes on the camera (rather than down at notes or your phone).                                                                - Pamela Bussey, High School Teacher, NFSB
