Rick Miller: Artistic director WYRD Productions presentation

Rick Miller's entertaining performance left one and all laughing and wanting more. Actor and singer, Rick Miller performed excerpts from MacHomer (the Simpsons do MacBeth), a play that has been performed internationally. He also performed high-energy sketches that satirize pop music and contemporary popular culture. This workshop was a great way to start ATEQ's Springboards 2007 conference.

Performance geared to high school students: MacHomer is a multi-media vocal extravaganza that takes one of Shakespeare's tragedies and crosses with 50 voices from TV's most enduring dysfunctional family. It is silly fun, but it actually helps high school students enjoy Shakespeare; they immediately identify with characters, thereby unblocking any barriers they have set up against his language.

Miller can be contacted at rick@wyrdproductions.com. For a glimpse into the world of Rick Miller visit his website www.rickmiller.ca, and further information on MacHomer can be found at www.machomer.com.
