SPRINGBOARDS CONFERENCE
LITERACY TRUNKS
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Now that MELS-funded Reform implementation training is complete, ATEQ would like to fill the professional development gap by creating two Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to better serve its members, the EELA and SELA teachers of Québec.

A PLC is an opportunity for teachers to share with and learn from each other’s classroom practice. We all have expertise and advice to bring to the table. In fact we have long been each other’s best teachers and support.

So, let’s not wait for someone else to do it for us. Let’s continue to support each other’s commitment to professional enrichment. Let’s become for each other the sustained, supportive, and innovative professional network we deserve.

This year the PLC is reading Cris Tovani's book Do I Really Have to Teach Reading?
Our next meeting is Tuesday, March 13th at 4:30 at Heritage Regional High School on the South Shore. If you have read or are reading this book, please feel free to join us.
