A Young Voice to be Heard – workshop with James Valitchka, author, Mary Ellen Mason, Teacher, Concordia University Applied Linguistic Graduate Student, and Elle A. Reyes , author.

James Valitchka is the Canadian 12 year old author of seven picture books.

Mary Ellen Mason did a research project on her students' responses to an author unit on James Valitchka's books and this culminated in his visit to her school December 2005.

The workshop with James, Ms Mason and Ms Reyes, presented teaching materials for James' two colorfully illustrated picture books, Superheroes Don't Have Dads and I'm Not Brown, I'm Human
