A NEW LOOK FOR ECOKIDS.CA - EcoKids is Earth Day Canada's environmental education program for elementary school aged youth. Since 1994, the EcoKids Program has empowered Canadian youth with environmental knowledge and hands-on activities, and presented this information in fun, exciting ways that increase awareness and encourage active community involvement. Our award-winning EcoKids website, www.ecokids.ca - the centrepiece of the program - is an innovative, interactive environmental website for children, their families, and educators in Canada and around the world.

Learning to Learn - the very first training program aimed at teaching adults with little schooling the methods necessary to learn, was jointly achieved by the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the Centre DÉBAT, a literacy group working in an impoverished district of Montreal. Created with the financial participation of the National Literacy Secretariat, the program was initially published in French in the autumn of 2000, then translated into English and launched in Montreal in April 2006.    

CTF - Canadian Teachers' Federation - speaks for 220,000 teachers in Canada as their national voice on education and related social issues. CTF membership includes Member organizations in every province and territory in Canada – including the Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers -- as well as an Affiliate Member in Ontario. CTF is also a member of the international body of teachers, Education International.

The website offers concrete examples of instructional strategies for teaching the significance of narrative writing through resource materials, examples of student work an video clips of participating teachers working with their linguistically diverse classrooms in kindergarten, second and fifth grades. The Parliamentary Poet Laureate
The Parliamentary Poet Laureate, Mrs. Pauline Michel, is proud to announce that the "Poems of the Week" website is now again online. Mrs. Michel has relaunched this website dedicated to Canadian poets and their poems on June 5th. This project has been set up by the previous Poet laureate, Mr. George Bowering, in 2002.

Canadian Children's Literature Service
From the National Library of Canada and National Archives of Canada. The Canadian Children's Literature Service offers advisory, reference, and bibliographic services based on the Canadian Children's Literature Service Collection.

CBC Children's Book Council
This non-profit trade organization encourages literacy and the use and enjoyment of children's books, and is the official sponsor of Young People's Poetry Week and Children's Book Week each year.

Blue Metropolis City of Words
Blue Metropolis Foundation is a registered non-profit organization that was established in 1997 to advance education in literature and related arts. Numerous activities are organized throughout the year, including the celebrated Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival. Canadian Council of Teachers of English Language Arts (CCTELA)
The CCTELA is a national organization of affiliates from across Canada dedicated to the teaching and learning of English language arts in Canada. The association publishes English Quarterly and the CCTELA News Update.
