Fall Fare is a conference begun in the fall of 2011. It is held every two years, and the format is distinct from that of Springboards (teachers sharing with teachers) in that we offer a concerted amount of time with a published expert in a field concurrent with that year's theme. As well, we offer a choice of breakout sessions, again for an extended time, with other experts in the field. So, teachers spend the whole day with only a few presenters to really explore a theme in depth and from different perspectives.
Featured Vendors at Fall Fare 2013
This year writing is our theme, Georgia Heard is our expert writing teacher, and we will also feature sessions with picture book author Cybèle Young, Jennette MacKenzie on non-fiction writing, video game designer Miriam Verburg, and poet Jason Selman, all working in the field as writers. They will share inspiration, genre, codes and conventions, process, and revision strategies that teachers can adapt for the classroom.
