E-NotesArticlesA Heritage moment with G. Robert Morrison
In April 2007 G. Robert Morrison, author from Kirkland, Quebec, held a reading at Heritage Regional High School in St. Hubert from his latest collection of stories, “To Pause and Flutterby”. Students ranging from Secondary 3 to Secondary 5 attended the readings. Students identified with the feelings expressed in his stories and were deeply affected by the sensitivity to adolescent issues – a compilation of experiences both as a student and an adult reflecting back on the events of his early education. “To Pause and Flutterby”, published by Morgaine House, Montreal 2006, focuses on events ‘shaped by memory' and ranging from Mr. Morrison's experiences from kindergarten through teachers' college. As he says, “the writing of this book has also been a voyage of discovery”. Mr. Morrison is an astute educator and writer. “Mr. Morrison has been a teacher, education consultant, high school principal and student. His poetry and short stories have appeared in various publications”. As Mr. Morrison avows, he is a life-long learner and enjoys sharing his stories with students. He may be contacted at grmorrison2000@gmail.com.
